Custom Financial Reports Suite for a Global Coffee and Tea Retailer

Overview

Developed and delivered a suite of custom financial reports in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations for a Global Coffee and Tea Retailer. The standard out-of-the-box reports in D365FO did not fully meet the client’s business and statutory reporting needs, particularly for consolidated and region-specific financial analysis across multiple entities.

Scope

• Analyzed gaps in standard D365FO financial reporting capabilities.
• Designed and developed multiple custom financial reports tailored to the client’s operational, statutory, and management reporting requirements.
• Enabled automation of data extraction and report formatting to support faster financial close and reporting cycles.

Key Activities

• Requirement Analysis: Engaged with the client’s finance and management teams to capture reporting requirements across regions and legal entities.
• Report Design: Designed reporting structures covering trial balance, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, intercompany eliminations, and cash flow analysis.
• Development: Built custom financial reports using the Management Reporter framework within D365FO.
• Testing & Validation: Conducted functional testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure data accuracy, compliance, and reconciliation with statutory financial statements.
• Documentation: Delivered detailed user manuals and technical documentation to support ongoing use and maintenance.
• Client Coordination: Worked closely with the client’s finance controllers to align reports with statutory obligations and internal management reporting standards.
